LOVE AND PUNISHMENT

Poor child
can’t escape
the prison
of her last glance

Called to be comfort
and candle to his mother
even in death

HAIKU IN THE MIRROR

The fear to dive
in the other one’s love
will confine you under arcades

of the sunken harem
where the blue sharks
will guard you

LATELY

The thistle’s flower
refuses to hearten you
and love turns to pity
taking the form
of the killer innocence
of the sea

THISTLE

The thistle’s thorny ball has greater
awareness of your inability
of losing self

THE SHADE

At play with ball and its shade
the doggie is in charge
of catching the latter

CHASED

Chased from a swallow’s drawing-rooms
out in the rain
How can my laughter be the same?

WINGS

The first thunder of wings fear
as the youngling hangs
in the void off the nest

DEMANDING LOVE

You take it by its backhead
from under the front wheels of your car
and the still living fox bites you bone-deep

POETRY

She is the secret youngest
of the tall summer’s
skay
